As the ABC Private Ankara Kindergarten, our goal is to raise children who are at peace with themselves and their environment, happy, successful, and who contribute to society as useful individuals. Achieving this goal is only possible through quality education that starts in the preschool period, where basic knowledge, skills, and habits are acquired.
At the ABC Private Ankara Kindergarten, students receive IB PYP (Primary Years Programme) education. The content of the kindergarten program is designed to support conceptual learning in line with Turkish National Education goals and based on the National Education curriculum.
The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) expects students to direct their own learning processes and bring all their experiences to the classroom. With a focus on children's happiness, learning is enriched with academic, social, and artistic activities through play-based learning. All lesson contents in the program are related to student experiences, and disciplines are not considered separate from each other. Students can relate all their experiences and acquired knowledge to each other and make their own inferences as a result. Students start their kindergarten education at the age of 3, preparing for primary school, learning to share, cooperate, socialize, work together, research, question, and take risks. The curriculum and school culture support students in having the qualities of the IB learner profile.
An inquiry program shaped by 6 transdisciplinary themes, where students are the subject of the process, is created. Unit and lesson plans are prepared in collaboration with all teachers at the school, supporting inquiry and skill-based learning and deepening conceptual learning.
In the IB (PYP) program, group work and methods that highlight students' curiosity, creativity, research, and questioning are used. All methods, techniques, and assessment tools selected for applications are used to track what students know and learn.
While aiming to raise students as global citizens who are connected to their national and cultural values, our primary goal is to ensure that they become happy and successful individuals in life.
